Remote Learning

WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER

COVID-19 UPDATE: MUA IS NOW ONLINE!

The schools remain open as students from all grades continue to learn remotely in their virtual classrooms.

MUA is committed to protecting the health of our staff, students and faculty by minimizing any contribution to the spread of the virus and ensuring business continuity to the best of our abilities. We want to share with you some information about these ongoing efforts.

As per the mandates of Ontario Provincial Health, all MUA staff and faculty are working remotely. Our campuses are temporarily closed.

All existing classes have transitioned to live online learning, with live teacher-led lectures. We believe that all learners can thrive in digital classrooms that are engaging, learning-focused and inclusive. Our exclusive online learning platform allows students to enjoy rich and interactive online content, preparing them for their future in an increasingly digital world.

Share this information with friends and family who are also interested in continuing their child's education, and be sure to take advantage of our referral program.

We encourage you to follow major news announcements as we aim to remain vigilant to collaborate and provide what our students need.

On behalf of all of us at MUA, we thank you for continuing to place your trust in us. We appreciate your patience and support during these trying times. We are all in this together and InshaAllah can hope for the best results with sincere effort and cooperation.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or inquiries.

Behavourial Guidelines for Online Classrooms

While online schooling may be different from the in-classroom experience, all students are expected to follow the MUA Code of Conduct. We will focus on prevention, early intervention with progressive discipline, and restorative practices as the key to maintaining a positive, safe, welcoming, respectful, and accessible virtual learning environment in which students can learn and educators can teach.

When inappropriate behaviour occurs, all staff members will utilize a range of interventions that focus on improving behaviour. Necessary action will be taken immediately, which may include being removed from the classroom and/or school. Please refer to the MUA Netiquette Guidelines for Online Classrooms and the following student expectations to have a conversation with your child about good online behaviour.

Student Expectations

Be engaged in your classroom activities and ask for help if needed.

Complete your assigned work to the best of your ability.

Protect your classroom links and only access your classroom with your full name.

Be on your best behaviour in the online classroom by following the Nettiquete guidelines and engage like the well-mannered student you are!

Parents/Guardians Expectations

Be engaged in your child’s learning.

Support your child to complete their work to the best of their ability.

Encourage your child to participate respectfully and remind them of the Netiquette Guidelines.

Allow the virtual classroom/live sessions to be focused between the teacher and student. Save your questions and/or comments for a follow up email.

Routinely check your child’s Google Classroom as teachers may be uploading homework/assignments for students to complete.

Check your email regularly for any new announcements.

We thank you for your adaptability. It has been truly remarkable to see our MUA community working to build connections and learn together. We pray for your families to remain in good health and positive circumstances. May Allah protect our families, children, community members, and the entire Ummah, Ameen.
